Missions and objectives

Comra Academy is a film community space based in Sana`a, Yemen that aims at capacity building, funding, partnership and engagement with local Yemeni filmmakers. Through support consisting of training, one-to-one mentorship, and networking with leading film experts from the region and beyond, Comra Academy utilizes its platform and network to strengthen the capacities of young filmmakers in Yemen who would otherwise not have access to such opportunities. It also aims to empower them as young professionals striving to succeed in a competitive film industry in the MENA region and globally and push their visual and cinematic narrative depicting life inside Yemen. Ultimately, our training programs aim at providing these filmmakers with the tools and ongoing support necessary for them to tell their own stories to the world.

قُمرة هي مساحة مجتمعية لصناعة الأفلام في صنعاء, اليمن. من خلال فرع أكاديمية قُمرة، نهدف إلى بناء قدرات صانعي الأفلام اليمنيين المحليين ودعم مشاريعهم. من خلال الدعم المتمثل في الدعم المادي والانتاج والتدریب والإرشاد الفردي والارتباط الشبكي مع خبراء الافلام المتصدرین حول العالم, فإن أكادیمیة قُمرة تستعمل شبكتها لتعزیز قدرات صانعي الأفلام في الیمن. كما أنها تهدف إلى تمكینهم كشباب محترفین وتشجیع حكایتهم البصریة والسینمائیة لعرض واقع الحیاة داخل الیمن. كما أن برامجنا التدریبیة تهدف إلى تزوید صناع الأفلام هؤلاء بالأدوات والدعم المستمر الضروري لهم لیخبروا العالم بقصصهم الخاصة.
