Missions and objectives
Our Project aims to re-purpose the historic, listed building of the Old Acton Library to include a two- screen cinema, a bar/café, and a performance space on the ground floor. The project aims to benefit all the residents of, and visitors to, Acton through the provision of a centrally located, welcoming, community space. Our desired outcomes include regeneration of the high street and revival of the night time economy while promoting community cohesion through the provision of a much-needed destination for residents. By occupying the Old Library on Acton High Street we will also be preserving an historic building for the public use it was originally intended for.
Our cinema brings you the latest quality independent films, world cinema, documentaries, film festivals and film-maker events, and the occasional quality blockbuster.
A large events space can be hired for private and public events, and the rest of the ground floor has a new bar and cafe run by the wonderful Bears Ice Cream Company and a relaxing lounge area with free Wi-Fi.
The ground floor is fully accessible with a ramp at the front of the building, there is a wheelchair space in the auditorium and new toilets that are fully accessible.
