“ComeUnaMarea” was established in 2005. It is a no profit cultural association with a board of governors. The headquarter of the organization is in Palermo, the capital of Sicily that is an ile in the south of Italy andì in the centre of Mediterranean area. The Association is aimed at promoting and preserving the cultural heritage and gives great importance to the activities that valorise oral traditions and expressions. ComeUnaMarea helps and prevents any form of unease concerning people at risk of social exclusion, through actions of prevention and integration. The Association realizes events that wants to strengthen citizenship by showing the possibilities to live together harmoniously, embracing the idea that a multiplicity of identities can live together accepting differences inherent to their cultural, religious and linguistic diversity. The institution has been surveyed by the Municipality of Palermo “ U.O. Interventi per Immigrati, Rifugiati, Nomadi” among the organizations active in the field of immigration and social integration. It joined in with the National Convention “NO MORE!” combating the male violence against woman. ComeUnaMarea is in the Unique Onlus Registry and in the Provincial Registry of associations of the third sector and non-profit organizations for the promotion of human rights and of the equal opportunity for man and woman. The organization cooperates with foreign and Italian ONG and associations and it is member of the “Anna Lindh Foundation”, an inter-governmental institution bringing together civil society and citizens across the Mediterranean Area and of the RIDE Italian Network for Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue ComeUnaMarea is the leader in a network of public and private social institutions ComeUnaMarea has participated in EU Programs in the field of non-formal learning as LLP Programme Grundtvig, Leonardo da Vinci, Youth in Action, ERASMUS + and Europe for Citizens Programme. It took part in UNESCO Education for Sustainable Development Campaign 2013/14/15 and in the European Week for Waste Reduction (SERR) 2015/16/17/18/19/20 It is Cerealia Festival coordinator for the eco-sustainable activities in Sicily. |
